Default Road legal 'off road' tyre........

Does anyone know what actually makes a tyre legal for the road?

If it doesnt say 'not for road use' would that make it road legal?

Cheers

I nearly bought a set of wheels fitted with 'Town and Country' tyres for my moggy. That was a wicked off road machine.

Dunno if anyone still sells them or what they'd be called these days though.

Yup - European Type approval.

Its like a SVA but for a manufacturer and means they are ok to use anywhere in Europe but not necessarly the USA...
