What do you mean safe?

Is your car mapped for 100 RON fuel if not, what's the point? It will be slower on 100 RON than if you run it on 95 RON or what ever its mapped for.

My point being, running a car on high octane fuel can be beneficial, but problems will start occurring if the octane rating is too high or if the fuel has ethanol in it.
If the car is mapped for it yes it will be beneficial otherwise you will lose power.

Tescos 99 RON fuel has ethanol in it.

going 2-3 points above the number your car is speced to run on will be fine.

Going to high will make it hard to get the engine to start.

In Sweden we got 5% ethanol in all petrol, they will probably increase this to 10% if the government gives its approval. Never had any problems with it in the Cossie.
