Default Congratulations to Sean Bicknell!! first outright win in Lotus series

Yes!!! ol Shonky has done it! an outright race win in his Audi Turbo Exige at Silverstone on Sunday!!!

He is in the Red car, it was a mighty 3 way battle and he had to beat two VERY VERY experienced drivers. One is a professional driver!

WELL DONE MATE!!!

couldn't happen to a nicer or more deserving bloke!

Ive got one of his DVD's when he is showing you the pedals during left foot braking etc, its not like watching feet on the pedals its like watching fingers on piano keys, absolutely awesome driver, so makes Sean's achievement even more awesome.

What's powering the other cars? Are they all similar spec?

Yes. Supercharged Hondas and other Audi Turbos... as fast in a straight line or faster than Shonkys car.

and as mentioned Walshy is a race instructor. He teaches other racers who do drive... so it was an incredible performance from Sean!

He beat PROPER race drivers fair and square!

Thanks guys.

Yeah the cars are all very equal. We are all limited to 290BHP measured at the hubs on a hub dyno. The dyno has even been taken to the race circuits so they can test cars straight after qually etc. Walshy's car is a Rotrex SC'd Honda and is built and looked after by a big outfit called Sinclaires Motorsport and as everyone has said he is pretty handy behind the wheel. Chris Randel runs his own motorsport prep company as well called Hofmans. His car has a Jackson SC'd honda in it. I am the only guy with an audi turbo. Mine is a 1.9 with the smallest GT30 on it.

To be honest though its all about the handling, everyone runs three way adjustable dampers and everything to do with the suspesnion is adjustable. It has taken me quite a while to get my head around all of that to be honest, but I'm getting there.

We all have to run Yoko A048 Medium compound tyres in both the wet and the dry.

Cheers guys.

I have never driven Randy or Walshys cars but I have driven an SC'd honda one round Oulton. To be honest I prefer my Audi, as the power comes in so much quicker, you obviously still have to revs the nuts off the SC'd cars to get the most out of them.

Yeah Tiff, the red one I have now is the orange one, it has been quite a few different colours over the years. lol.

Steven, you should feel it at full hammer now! At track days and test days I turn it up to full beans which is about 420bhp. In a 790 kg car, it is properly fast and as the turbo is so small there is no lag at all, its mint!!!!

I certainly wouldn't lend it to someone as clumsy and clueless as me

I've only had it out a few times in the months I have had it to be honest...

its just FUCK OFF FAST...

and feels FASTER as has no windscreen and is about 2 inches off the ground and the exhaust is only 6 inches from your ear hole....

its ANGRY....
