I notice that they've put some quotes from the critics on there saying how it's 100% exciting and a must see movie. These critics were hung from crimes against humanity

Went to see "The Strangers" reciently - that was utter gash.

 

look at them in the context of when they were released. (apart from the crow, that was just shit)

godfather 1 and 2 were amazing when they were new. blade runner was full of new ideas and got people thinking.

remember we're the next generation looking back on the previous generation's movies. perhaps people will look back on the matrix in 30 years time and think "thats shit"

The godfather movies were BRILLIANT!!!!!! the Crow was pretty lame but not that bad..... Blade Runner was an amazing film IMHO.

like 95% of gangster films but just cant get all the hype about scarface, watched it a few times trying to get what everyone likes.

just no real story, deals drugs shoots a load of people gets killed story over.

Robin Hood, Men in Tights - The only film where I've actually walked out of the Cinema

Fitzcarraldo - I did a Film Studies A Level and we had to watch it. Shockingly shit.

The Marriage of Maria Braun - As above, and as an indication of how bad it is, this is a quote from Wikipedia "The film ends with a series of photographic negative portraits of West Germany’s post-war chancellors"

Anything with Goldie Hawn, Glenn Close, Barbara Streisand or Angelica Houston. Especially when one of them has cancer.

Gone in 60 Seconds - Way too much 'preening' way way too little driving.

-Some film i cant remmeber the name of but its about a bunch of guys that wake up in a warehouse after being gassed and all cant remember anything, it unfolds that it was some kind of gangster meeting and some of the guys were goodies and some wre baddies. Anyway, it was so bad I watched it, completely forgot it, and watched it again with my mates a month later, only by the end of the film to realise I had seen it all and it was crap!

Donny Darko - whilst i agree it was a bloody slow movie that i was waitng to end, when the end finally did some i thought to myself "oh actually thats quite good"

Matrix - how is that NOT a good movie? i admit the sequels were turd, but the first? the first has to be up there in the "greatest action and/or scifi movies ever made"

as for not liking tom cruise, WTF?!?! before he turned all mental he was in me GREAT movies.

i mean TOP GUN ffs, who doesnt think TOPGUN is cool as f**k!

 

the problem is jim,i remember watching 3 of those 5 when they were relatively new,and thought the same then!i fell asleep during godfather,blade runner just seems to go nowhere,they try for too much atmosphere,and the crow?well its just crap!
i hate al pacino and robert de niro,i honestly think they are MASSIVELY over rated and seem to me to only be able to do one character each (pacino is a shouty twat and de niro is quiet and looks funny at people and they think he is scary,thats it!)

i must admit that i dont think bladerunner is particuarly interesting (infact i dont like it at all... lol) but you have to appreciate that its vision of the future and concepts were pretty far out there at the time.
