I would go with the pole, and I think the couple who have employed him are dicks, Terry is a knob. Hate to say it but the pole is better.

looked well fake to me.i liked the plaster/pebbledash window and frame look.who would stand in front of that mess and not bother to clean it with cameras ready to show it as something you've done? fake show!

 

All these programs piss me off, no wonder british builders have such a bad name, why

cant they show some decent tradesman for once, id be glad to have cameras on any

of my jobs

what was the multi coloured blockwork all about ? or was that re-cycling,using secondhand stuff.that and the piss poor pebbledashing mess made my mind up about it being fake.let's show white workingclass english builder being the baddy and poor johnny foreigner as the goody, with his poor family and workers who will work 24/7 for a pittance,do work for free for the bad english working class clients .well done C4 put down the racist bad english as workers and clients,smart move but i fully expected that from the start.mr polish will work for fuck all and keep the rich happy,like the bloke at the end who gave him money up front then acted odd when he had left,fake!,when the water comes through the switched on downlight ! and the ceiling falls down and the tiles fall off the wall and the pipes leak in 5 places,and ruin all the walls architrave and oak floors in a Ł5 million house.then i had to repair it! but that was a job that a so-called top draw bathroom company got,then subbed it to the cheapest people who happened to be polish,so they could cream off a massive profit, of course they are not all like that,everyone can be as good/bad as each other,but as usual the tv has to show the bodges.never had a complaint about any of my work but C4 don't want to know! a very weak effort

 

Had to be fake. Theres no way that terry fella could think his job was any good.
No way on earth he'd have the face to stand there and claim he was proud of it.

The poles came across as hard working decent chaps imo so good for them but the british guy was far too bad for it to have been real. Obviously a setup to dispel fears about polish immigrant workers.

 

We've just had builders in to do the base and brickwork for our conservatory. Its the first time I've ever had to deal with builders and they have been A1. On time, communicate and have done a blinding job. They were from birmingham - so they were starting from a disadvantaged position to start with

 

DID NOT see the program so cant comment on it, BUT, what was the point of it.
Surely it is at its roots rascist ?
NOT because the Englishman was made to look bad, but no matter what the outcome, all it does is make each nation dislike each other more, or try to do that, as in this program made the English look bad so now more English arent going to want to be arround the Poles so much.
Just dont see what it set out to say, NOT prove but say.

Good viewing imo.

You wouldnt catch a British builder working 10 hour a day for 43 days on the bounce to get a job done. Little Polish man seemed to do a tidy job minus the floor maybe, but the folk he was working for were proper cunts.

As for Terry, what a shockingly bad job, 180+ days, then when its done it is a proper piece of shit. Surely knowing the cameras were on him he would have made an effort.

The fact the electrician from the polish guys job asked him to do his own extension says alot imo. Surely a spark like that must see/know of a hundred builders, and asked the pole to do work for him, must have done a good job in comparison to other english builders?

Not good to say but if the Polish are as hardworking and honest as the one in the show was, then fairplay to them - they deserve the work.

 

the last electrical firm i worked for employed quite a few polish blokes, everyone was moaning etc but you couldn't fault there work or how hard they was prepared to work either....
