Default GAUGES! mechanical or electric?

whats the difference? and which one would i need for road use?

and are auto meter any good?

electrical ones like the name suggests are electrical and run off sensors, mechanical ones run off the actual pressure etc

For example a mechanical oil pressure gauge would need an oil line run from the engine to the gauge, but an electrical one would have a pressure sender screwed into the block, then an electrical signal run to the gauge by wires.

Mechanical are more accurate, however electrical are far easier to fit/maintain/bugger about with.

ahh indeed!!!

so elec ones for road use will do the job fine yes?

yeah suppose your right but im after 3 or 4 gauges, thats around £500 iirc.
