Wheel offsets?
Currently have 17x8 wheels on wiv a offset of 30. Just bought some new wheels which am having problems wiv getting the studs to actually meet the wheel there tightening well before these wheels are 17x7.5 wiv a offset of 37 could this be causing this? wen a ordered wheels asked for what was on 17x8 and getting 17x7.5, now there saying cant give is money back cos they were a special order

Shudnt have to change studs really, been sent 2 set of nuts now all being the same ones lol they told is 2 put open ended studs on which imo will looks bollocks and cut the stud which am deffo not doing, failing that a got told cant get money back on wheels and to put them on a auction site! these loons for real!
Well if they arent what you ordered then by law they must take them back - special order or not - they specially ordered them wrong obviously - quote the sale of goods act to them!!!

Negative Offset wheels have their mounting face toward the rear of the wheel - powerful rear-wheel drive cars often have wheels with negative offset.
Zero Offset wheels have their mounting face even with the centerline of the wheel and are by definition ET0.
Positive Offset wheels have their mounting face toward the front face of the wheel. Front wheel drive vehicles usually have positive ET wheels. Eighties & Nineties Volkswagen wheels are generally ET38.

7½ x 17 ET37 is perfect offset for a Sapphire. I don't understand what the problem is? Someone has obviously fitted longer wheel studs at some point in it's life to accomodate the 8 x 17 ET30 wheels. It is not a problem to cut these down to the required length or swap them for some standard size studs.
Offset is how far the wheel sits under the arch. The smaller the number, the further they stick out. I would imagine that you must have had arch clearance issues with the ET30s, as they would normally be ET35 in that width (and would still require some arch trimming with certain size tyres)?
