Who would be up for a PF skate night at Rollerworld in Colchester?

They have a good bar there, play a good selection of cheesy tunes, and would be quite a good laugh i think!

I used to be a 'Skate Steward' at rollerbury, and i could always skate better backwards than i could forwards!

Yeah, I can't skate for shit. Properly no balance. I struggle to walk sometimes or press the brake pedal

 

When I lived in Cambridge until 2006 I use to go and play roller hockey at roller bury in Bury sr'edmunds on a Friday and some sundays

 

 

When I was a kid I fell over and a friends really fat dad tried to go over me and stood on my finger with the Ice Skate. I cried lots. Never again.

Sounds quite far from Yorkshire.

The last time I went roller skating was at Center Parcs, I enjoyed it but stopping wasn't easy.

i'd be well up for it.still go every now and then any way.

i grew out of my bauer turbo's but i have bought a set of hockey boots to replace them.not the best but do me fine for the times they get used.

I loved my old boots, Roces with bit fat Fat Pigs wheels i think they were called, 80quid bearings. them stupid socks which people used to put over them

No back stopper for me tho, we used to stop by makin a racket with the skiddin of the wheels. We used to think we were uber cool but in reality we looked like a bunch of twats

I even used to play for a Roller hockey team called The Wirral Pythons, used to go through a pair of boots every season, bauers mainly.

Ain't skated now for nearly 9-10 years since i become a fat cunt

 

So you 'hockey stopped' then! i tried it once,landed on my arse so never did it again!!!! i never had rear stoppers either!

 

oooh ooooh i remembered... i used to have 'belair' wheels!

 

thats it Hockey Stopped, the wheels didn't half make a racket.

hockey stopping was great.dont try and do it now though.you tend not to be able to 18 years down the line

mine still have the socks but they arent the big box ones

 

were the belair wheels the small wide ones?

My last set of blades bought from the states cost around 450, on top of that i got Alloy frames for the wheels etc. Didn't make me any better tho

 

they were really small and really hard! and usually flourescant orange or green!

 

Oh them were the days

I remember the time they stated doin ramps in the Rec where it was being placed, like a knob i am i told Dave the person who ran it "Oh i'll jump first am quite good at it".

Bearing in mind as it was new EVERYONE was watching, i flew up to it hit the ramp my feet went forward to quick, i landed right on me back and everyone laughed i was gutted. A little girl went next jumped perfect an made me look an even bigger knob head

 

there used to be a ramp in rollerbury too!! the amount of people that landed on their arse on the way down was hilarious!

 

i'd be 100% be up for this, i still have my bauer turbos under the stairs as i wont part with them and revert back to them occasionally when all vehicles are broke lol. let us know if it goes ahead please

Alex Knight is a DEMON skater tho, he got the wide trucks on the back of his graff's & he got Belair on them bad boys !! We went couple years ago now, 5 mins & I was dead !! Well bruised too !!
