I had solid mounts on my saph, put them on in 1997, apart from very slight diff whine they were fine, and it stopped tyres scraping the wheel arch liners on track, the beam moved that much on the original worn out mounts that the wheeels scraped the liners on track!

I would say do the Donuts solid yes but fit a poly diff mount and not solid mount it on a road car if you want a more relaxing drive. solid diff mount just passed on too much vibration for a comfy road car IMO.Poly all round would be a decent upgrade over std

solid mounts are the best suspension mod i ever did to my saff, completly changed the handling for the better, and no more noise than poly bushes.....
ive done 50k with mine with no issues at all,

imo, for road use, a good std diff mount and solid beam mounts is the best combo

Ssshhh what noise and vibration lol
well im not sure what is like with out a solid diff mount, but i get a constant whine from my diff (even though it had only done 1500miles since it was re-built)
and i suffer from back lash slightly when commin off the power, i would assume a standard mount would eliminate this?
launches r brutal but its worth it in my opinion, i suppose it depend on if you use your car as a daily driver?
ive just driven to and from the ring, n found the car really easy going,
im also running coil overs
