Default recovery/trailer costs

my friends westfield decided to die on sunday, whilst he was on the M1. he recovered the car as far as his grans (northampton) and plans to go get it this weeekend. it needs to be trailored/ towed as the engine has died, and he told me he was gonna tow it home to london (approx 60-70 miles!) i suggested gettiong someone with a trailor to recover it for him.

does anyone know what the going rate is for something like this, i know a few guys on here do it, or anyone thats had to do it before. just looking for some rough numbers i could pass on to him

cheers guys

rory

so £70-100 should cover it getting recovered, i just thought it would be safer than towing for hours and hours.

£1 a mile one way is a good price, theres normally a key turning charge too so elsewere you can add say 20 or 30 quid to that
