Default Football Manager 2009

I haven't played any manager games for a long time and was just wondering what the football manager series of games is like as the new championship manager games are now sega and aren't like the old games so I have been told?

I used to be right into the old school championship managers from 96-2000. Are the football manager games similar to these?

FM is infact based on the CM series. the story goes that the original CM was written by 2 chaps who went there separate ways, 1 kept the name, the other kept the database the game was based around, I have played FM for aaages and to me its by far the better of the 2!
