We all love a bit of controversy on here. Well here's a name and shame with a twist. Myself as the seller pissed off with someone buying something off of me and being a complete pain in the arse for no reason.
I decided to break my track car into bits as I am saving a deposit for a house. I had the car transported to my good friend Gary (Gadget off of here) to break as I live in Germany and don't have the time etc to take it apart and sell the bits on.
The post goes up in the rs turbo bits for sale room clearly advertising that the parts are from a series one with pictures of the car and a detailed description etc.
A user decides that he might like the GRS intercooler and speaks to Gary who was dealing with the money, bits and postage etc.
The user has questions; these are answered etc etc. The user requires pictures. These are provided.
The user is very happy at the price and pays for it along with a quickshift.
Parts are extremely well wrapped up with an inch thick of cardboard wrapped round the cooler.
Everything arrives in mint condition as it was described and as in the pictures at what I think is a bargain price.
The now new owner is unhappy that in place of the GRS sticker is a Field Motorsport sticker and now believes that the intercooler isn't a GRS cooler.
Gary knows it is a genuine one as he has seen many before. I had it sent from GRS to Garys house when he built my cvh engine a few years ago as I lived in Northern Ireland.
Gary offers to get Graham from GRS to post him out a new sticker so that he can put it on the top of the intercooler where the original used to be,
To confirm that the cooler is a genuine GRS cooler; Gary says to the user that the S1 cooler is a different shape to the other coolers as it's for an S1 as it was advertised with about 10 odd pictures of an S1 at the beginning of the advert. Along with the massive description of the car!
It turns out that the user that bought the cooler owns a Fiesta RS Turbo.
Could it be that the user only owns a Fiesta Turba and not an S1 as the intercooler was clearly described for that use in the advert.
RS_SEG is his username.
He still insists that the intercooler isn't genuine when it clearly is.
Now we all love a bit of name and shame. But sometimes it's the sellers that have the nightmare to deal with
Perhaps it rurns out that you bought the intercooler that is clearly advertised for an S1 and you own a Fiesta RS Turbo and have found that it doesn't fit.
I am a very reasonable and fair man as the other buyers of parts of my car will hopefully confirm.
But is it up to me to investigate as to whether he owns a Series One Turbo before he buys something off me that is well priced and in great condition and clearly advertised for it's purpose.
We have accomodated everything to help this guy and yet he is still a pain in the arse.
I don't see that I should have to give a refund for him being a dimwit.
The cooler was a bargain and you'd get more for it if you sold it on!

He asked the questions and got the answers. You can't pay for his stupidness at not knowing what car he's got. At best just re-advertise the intercooler on your thread and let him deal with the new buyer. You can't get any fairer than that IMO
He owns a frst i know were he lives in north london i bought some stuff off me tried to sell me a block with no main caps

your in the right mate no doubt about it . you sent what you promised in the condition you stated and thats that . if you had said it would fit other fords etc then fair enough, but you didnt . buyer is in the wrong end of story !

Sounds like he assumed it would fit his fiesta. His fault clearly, if advertised as an S1 intercooler. If its such a bargain price though, id just refund him, less postage costs, with him paying for return postage. Then bang it up on ebay and no doubt get more for it. Then everyones happy.
You often have to accept that for every 10 good buyers, theres always one that will cause you a bit of hassle. Thats life unfortunatly.

your obviously not a genuine trades man!
people will be hearing about this!

Gary's reply is just quality. Exactly what I would have put I'll let him post it if he wants

My reply after numerous attempts of being polite. To be honest, i've got better things to do than keep reading annoying mails..............
"Mate, now you are pissing me off! For fuck sake, it IS a GRS intercooler, Thats why it was advertised as one! i answered any questions you had, took any pics you requested.
Tell the world for all i care! Or, if you want to take it further, you've got my number, or pay me a visit, you have my address!"
What are you supposed to do? i offered to contact Graham @ GRS and get him to confirm it's one of he's coolers and even pay for a new sticker!!
This is the sort of thing i'm dealing with... This is the reply when i said i'll sort him a new sticker
it will fit my fiesta ,but that not the point.
it does bother me that the grs sign is not there, as i cant prove to the buyer of my car when i come to sell it, that it was made by grs.
you must see where im coming from mate?
if you had told me that the grs sign was not on there i wouldnt have bought it.and in the pictures the sign is not visable.
and whats the problem with a refund anyway?i sure you wont have a problem selling it if its genuine GRS.
tbh i would rather you refund me as i dont really want to be playing around with stickers and signs as it would just make it look un-genuine
im very sorry im just a fussy guy its not like i wasted your time i also bought the b&m off you that was perfect.
cheers
WTF??

host the pics sent him on here maybe?!

These are the pics that were sent,
All i was asked for was pics of the pipework to see if it would work with his setup!
Maybe it should have been advertised as a GRS intercooler with a Field motorsport sticker?? Should that have made a difference?

The bloke does sound a bit fussy, but can see his point. If he bought one thing, but when it turned up was branded as another I would be a little miffed.
BUT you seem to have been helpful to sort it, getting the sticker etc,and really he has no reason to reject it so think he is a pr*ck tbh.

selling parts on here i would expect no less than a pain in the arse customer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its a feature of many on hetre not a design fault, hence i no longer sell a thing on here despite being a paid up trader.

its just a sticker they put on as they did a lot of engine work and the IC seemed a nice place to stick it

What difference does a GRS sticker make anyway? Nothing wrong with their products be its not like a designer name top of the range product that is SOO much better than Pro alloy / Radtec / Airtec etc etc.
In fact if it had a field sticker on it, it would far more likely be specced correctly for the car it was to be supplied for!
What a true numpty!!
