IIRC Simon thought he was getting 40 hard launches on a box at 400bhp ish.

Good luck

Depends on the torque your engine has at 3500-4000rpm. If 400lbft, then about 3 presses of the loud pedal (depending on the mileage of the 'box) .

Yep, and after you've sorted the gearbox, you can bet the front diff will go next

Ah, you got to love 4wd

If you do all of your "loud" driving in 4th, then the box will last a lot longer

The best thing to do as a preventive measure is send one of the gearboxes to Bernie and have it shot-peened and polished. Will stress-relieve the gears and give it a bit more added strength, you may then get away with this for a period of time, providing you're not some animal with the 'box / clutch, as it is the shock loads that kill the MT75 (especially when the torque comes in with a big BANG with a T3/4). You could always fit a T4 and that will further reduce the stress on the transmission by moving the peak torque point higher up the rev range, meaning that you are travelling faster when it comes in, so less likely to break the 'box.

Going off the fact that it maxed out the grey injectors on duration it must be producing a fair bit of torque...

Should be ready next week. They had trouble getting the purple leather - the green, yellow and red was in stock though, so no worries there .

2 - 3 trackdays, depends on a few things like Mike said.
Go easy on third when braking hard too. Mine went crunch when I stomped on the anchors with the car in third @ approx 7000rpm. Nothing but a death rattle when I put my foot down coming out of the bend - all the other gears were OK tho'.

Every time you hoon it you're going to be thinking "this could let go any mo'". No fun IMO so start saving for something stronger...
