Lets face it guys this talk of a focus cossie is basically bollox. It will more than likely(unfotunately) never happen. The story of the sierra and escort cosworth is very convoluted but motorsport was the driving force throughout the whole of the cosworth familys life. When it is unknown even what platform they would use for this new car then alarm bells start to ring. The current focus rally car is not really a "cossie" so the association is not there like it was with the earlier cars. Also with Evos getting ever more powerful has the cosworth brand lost ground? What is worrying is that not even a mock up at a car show has been seen, that is usually a good indication that its at the planning stage. even if they started designing a focus cossie now itd be a few years before it landed in the dealers.

It will never be a Focus Cosworth!! Maybe a new Focus RS but they can't call it Cosworth anymore!

Surely they can call it a Cosworth if they want? I don't think ford actually owned cosworth when the sierra's engine was designed? Is cosworth not just an engineering company anyway who specialise in engine work? I'd say that if ford have any sense they WILL use the Cosworth badge again in the future on a suitable car, what else can they have above an RS?

If the new car can be made to handle well on UK B-roads and motorways, it should work on any roads.

I know for a fact that Cosworth have done some testing and development for an engine for the new Focus. Dont know any details tho... Dont fogrt tho there will be an ST and an RS. I understand the ST will be pitched around the 200bhp mark.
