my cars been stood for 2 years then i got it all running and mot,d started usin her again but now when i acelerate from say 2k to 4k it tapps like fook could this be the oil pump or simply cos its on solid lifters

any help please

The lifters shouldn't tap that loud. If it is them, they are either out of adjustment or the cam is fucked.

That's the most likely scenario, IMO.

 

its a brand new newman been in the car bout 2 weeks

Im sure if Jamie fitted it, that gives it the best chance, but CVH's are a nightmare for cams, so thats the first place I would look.
