Default ANy VW people in the house?

Just wondering if could let me know the difference between 130bhp Golf TDI's and the 150bhp Golf TDI's?

How often do they need servicing as may be going to look at 150bhp TDI thats on 53 plate with 38k miles. Last serviced about 1 and a bit years ago, does this sound right etc?

Cheers for any help.

150 has 20bhp more than the 130!!! Sorry well you did ask!!!!

AFAIK - different intercooler, turbo, injectors & possibly bottom end although I'm not sure on that!!!

The only difference in the engines is the cam - The 150 suffered from Cam problems aswell funnily enough.

Other than that, turbo is different, they have a front mount cooler as standard which can run good power. Thats about it i think.

The car your going to see sounds very nice, how much if you dont mind me asking mate? PM me if you like.

150 has a front mounted intercooler, you can tell by the boost hose going across the engine bay and bigger turbo i guess.

VW do long life servicing, which is every two years,20k, which uses diff oil, bit long for my liking, and i think you cant change them once they are set to this, best ring VW with the reg.

Aswell for servicing, they have a cambelt every 80,000 or so.

And a service every 20,000. When i looked at a few Boras that seemed to be the norm with them.

oh yeah forgot about the cams, it;s not actually the cams that are the problem they are made from good metal, it's the lifters that are monkey metal!

the cam wears through them over time, should be a recall thing but VW can be c+@ts to make them stand up and admit it.

The PD130 and PD150 only have different intercoolers (and radiators), turbo and ecus. There are another couple of minor differences but nothing significant.

as spikey said the 130 is regarded as a better car cause it doesnt have the problems, plus you see 170bhp easy with a map, but then the clutch may start slipping!! lol

I know i am the same mate.

I love the way my Bora is proper soft and a nice drive.

BUT, it looks quite pants in the standard format and i am itching to whack some coilies and wheels on it.
