Deeper pockets than you think. Stick to 175bhp and concentrate on handling/braking.

What turbo you on Paul ??

Need a decent cam kit, not solids for 230. Lightened & balanced bottom end so it rev's nice, ARP big end bolts etc & you should be there with a decent amount of boost !!

Beige run up to about 215 if I remember correctly on standard fuel pressure !?!?

I mean't, do a bit more that the usual Konis and springs......

Spend the money you'd waste chasing power on some REAL suspension mods... Like adjustable lower arms, an adjustable rear end, better ARBs etc etc.

That way later, when you've given Jim all your money for a while and you're even you can up the power on your escort and your chassis will be ready. MOst fun I ever had in an RST was a very simple chipped one, with a bigger intercooler and exhuast, but alot of work done on the suspension!

Low compression engine
Big valve head
Big T3
Good intercooler
Good tuner

That's about it!

as you've got management, why not use a zetec? It'd be cheaper and more reliable than the old cvh!

260bhp on my head with standard valve sizes says other wise.

My brother was running at 211bhp on beiges on his FRST. I wouldn't go just chasing a figure though I'd rather have an engine that drives well with a nice gob of torque. I mean will you get the hump if you only get 225bhp?

to be honest i wouldnt get the hump at 200bhp just to have the car driving again, i just thought whilst its apart id see whats required to make that kind of power, what boost can be run on standard engine with arp rod bolts, grs and a stage 3 t3? if i could get 20psi id be happy, i could be being optimistic but i dont know as i dont play with the cvh normally

My bro's was peaking at 21psi and holding 18psi iirc and that was on a totally stock bottom end that hadn't been apart in 80k miles.

In fact the only reason it came apart was because my brother had it out whilst sorting a couple of rusty bits and thought he might as well get it apart and freshen it up to standard spec (Oh how intentions change )

No ide to be honest. But at the very least you'll need a chip written to match the new injectors or all sorts of problems could occur
