Default Calling on any PF Plumbers

Sometime last week I noticed that the hot water in the house was all of a sudden REALLY hot

We haven't changed anything but I mean its nigh on boiling, if you get in the shower you have to put the tap to mainly cold to even be able to stand under it ?

I've checked the timer at that is actually fooked as we can only have the system on or off so as it appears to be working its arse off 24/7 I imagine the next bill is going to be high

What changes the temperature of the water ? I presume the central heating and tap water is seperate ?

Please excuse my lack of knowledge on this subject, I'm currently ill and not actually complaing about the hot water but I know its not right so if I can fix it I will or someone will need to take a look at it before it packs up all together

Oh right............So is it a combi or not, as earlier it was

As if it isnt, then check the hot water stat that will be straped to the side of the hot water Cylinder, about three quarters the way down. If this has come off then it will cause the cylinder temperature to rise, thus making FUCKING hot water

I agree with Tiff, if its a conventional open vent system the thermostat on the side of the cylinder has either fallen off or is faulty or somebody has turned it up.

Check it if I were you, it could be a 1 minute job of putting it back on if it has just fallen off.

Thanks for the further replies

Tiff, someone who has more of an idea than myself came over and told me the system we have as I originally said I do not know what I'm talking about when it comes to central heating etc..

I'll have my dinner (tea, depending on where u live in the country ) then I'll take a look !
