Comp MO 7x17's Fitting on ERST
I Want to get a set of compomotive MO 5 spokes 7x17 for my Series 2
http://www.reyland.co.uk/Details.asp?ProductID=42
But want to know what will i have to do to make sure they dont cause any problems like rubbing or anything else.
I have a set of Koni's adjustables on her and rear brake conversion at the back with 2wd cossie calipers. Also this car will be going to a body shop shortly and will be having Series 1 arches on it. Dunno if that will help the answer lol
thanks

I had 17's momo arrows on my old s2 and they rubbed under braking or when 4 up in the car and this is with the arches done and koni shocks fitted with only a sensible 25mm drop.
Here is a picture to give you an idea. I ended up buying a set of 16's instead.

Why not get some of Martoons run of Old Skool MO's in 16 inch. Look far nicer than the new MOs and will handle better and not scrub.
Would look the bollocks on a white S2 RST.

I wouldnt bother with 17's to be honest, I would go for the 16's as Rab has suggested and fit quality tyres as well. I also thought the handling of the car was not the same on the 17's and when it hit a bump I was always waiting for the tyres to rub!
16's are without a doubt the best compromise between looks and handling.
17's just don't handle in my humble opinion. Only had 17's on my first RST, then next 4 had 16's and the 4 after that had 15's....
See, proof that owning 9 RSTs doesn't make you stupid.

the 16's of MO's are they the flat face ones? im not that keen on them. i like the bowly kinda shape though on these 17's do they do the bowl kinda shap on 16's? or anyone got any pics

They do both mate. The ones with the dished spokes come in 16 aswell. Up to you really. I just mentioned the flat face ones as they'll be more exclusive and I prefer them. But if they other ones are your thing then rock and roll, but I really do reccomend 16's.
ahhhhh thats ok then. i wanted 16's at first but thought they didnt do the dished spokes in 16 anymore. for some reason i saw them in 15 and 17
must be getting old. i will defo be going for 16" then. what would these be 16x? .
cheers guys

if you only drop it by 25mm you should have no problems I didn't. BUT I would follow the advice above go for 16's in at at least 7.5 or 8 but am unsure if the width would cause any probs. 7" is totally crap for getting power down imo.
Anyway here's how mine looked, my mates Uno on MO 15's.

I actually dumped 2 perfectly good MO's as no one wanted them, couldn't believe it. All everyone asked was have they got tyres on as soon as I said no they weren't interested even though they were free!
