Default nuerburg experts

right i need peoples informed() opinions

was chattin to my boss today, turn's out i have 3 weeks of hol to take b4 chrimbo,

so i decided to take next week off, problem is i dont really wanna waste the time, so i hatched what it thought was a wicked plan, i decided why not no to the ring

This was until i realised its only open for a couple of hours on week nights and next week its only open for a full day friday, 2 hours sat and bout 4 hours sundy

question is is it woth riskin it and going anyway???

or is this time of year to late to go??

especially as if i go i will only have 1 full day

cheers jay

For a first visit, a day, a couple hours and 4 hours are more than enough time.

I'd do it if you can afford it.

Quieter this time of the year I'd expect, and although large groups are good for social, a solo or small scale first visit is also a good plan.

Do it!

Si

As per Si B, still plenty of time given how many laps you will get in per hour potentially at this time of year as its so quiet

i take it your going in your cos??

Have you got standard rear brakes??? If so either take a set with you or if your upgraded keep an eye on them. Both my 3dr and my mate in his saph killed our rear standard brakes in 2 laps of the ring.

I bought a 4 run pass when i was there,, and in honesty that was more than enough for me and the car,, As i had to drive it back to the uk too.

I did 1 run a day but 2 runs in one day and thats when my cos suffered,

However you gotta do it mate,, you might not get another chance go for it and have so much fun

Firstly and MOST importantly does your insurance cover you to be on the ring ?

If not take some out and trust me double check its not excluded.

I have 4 laps left one one ticket sitting here from a month ago, PM me if you want them

didnt think anyone insured at the ring anymore, dont they class it as an "unrestricted toll road" in the small print.

who does insure it then?, as I read only places that specialise in insurance at the ring charge approx Ł250 a day and only pay out a max of Ł20k, with a Ł5k excess

take in the whole area, not just the 'ring. just down the road is the mosel valley which is incredibly beautiful and has some fantastic vineyards to try out etc

perhaps have a day out in cologne as well

swimming trunks and towel packed, check. There is a beach there right? RIGHT?!?!?

Mike R has noted the 2x barriers you are to avoid hitting... the one on the left and the one on the right. We have a possible rendevous with an old school friend as we are over there so an excuse for a tour around when the circuit is closed.

STEVEH- 9laps? bloody hell how did the Mr2 last that long, bless. Sounds like a laugh mate, cant wait to go.

Yeah the beach is lovely
Make sure you eat a Pistenklaus restaurant, its near the BMW garage, just down a side road, Steak argentina is you cook it yourself!

I dont know how it lasted 9 laps mate, I friggin beasted it too, was absolutely flying by the last one, mainly because i coudnt slow down

Seriously, (though you guys probably dont need telling this), its fucking LETHAL when it rains so be careful if you do go out in the rain!! We sat there watching all the locals and regulars packing up thinking 'pussies'. More or less had the track to ourselves, and found out why

Absolutely brill time, have a good one, and remember PICS please!!

I got some video:

Yeah thats a bloke on the back too, warming his buttocks

I think alot of people were videoing themselves and being heroes, and possibly crashing. I just swung left immediately after i pulled out past the cones and stuck it on the screen. Ian might have the vid, I've not seen any of it yet
