Default what does the phase sensor do on a Cozzie?

I have just replaced my phase sensor on my Ecos as the car wouldn't start with it connected but now it starts fine but misfires when coming onto boost. Is there a way of testing it? also what does it do?

Cheers
Dave

It tells the ECU what cylinder is next to fire. It's for 720 degree engine syncronisation to allow sequential injection instead of batch fired/semi sequential.

Its a cam sensor and i bet you connected it backwards. Red wire goes on left pin.

As said needed if sequential injection, the red wire as said goes on nearest pin to the phase sensor, the body plug electrical connector is marked with + and - as well, but very tiny markings.
