I had a '96 1.8 Si and I wanted a spare airbox to drill for a K&N panel filter. The 1.8's have a bulbous rectangular air box whereas the 1.6's I came across had a triangular shaped top. If that makes sense.

the top part is different, bottom is the same.

top is different due to the 1.8 MAF being bigger than the 1.6.

You've got the the pipe which runs from the throttle body to your MAF which connects to the air box, then the breather pipe which runs from the rear of the rocker cover to the bottom of the air box.

Leeeroy... you had two different setups, obviously an early built 96 with the mk5 airbox and piping over the rocker cover and silver efi inlet

as opposoed to the 96 onwards with the black plastic inlet and piping accross the rear of the bay.

if you get the same model then the airbox is the same for 1.6/1.8
