take it easy, build up your speeds slowly and dont try to break records first time out.
Use your mirrors an awful lot, dont be to embarassed to move over for faster cars, but most importantly enjoy it!!!
Give the car a proper checking over each time you go out, and dont run out of fuel!!! LOL

Just enjoy yourself, dont worry about it, keep an eye on your mirrors, and keep out the way of the faster cars is what id say the most!
On track is the times when you realise how much faster some stuff car go/corner

dont feel like you have to overtake anyone, take your time and remember to drive cone to cone and not " around " the track.
I did my 1st track day at Croft and enjoyed it, i massively improved by my final session and was a lot smoother.
Remember not to brake as you go into the corners

definatley BREAK EARLY!!!!!!
do not go off and try push your cars breaks to the limit.... as said above dont break round corners!!!!
just go around at a pace you know your car can do, and if you want to push it a bit more, go INTO the corner SLOWLEY and out as fast as you want!
last thing you want is to brake too late.... or brake into the corner, nither are a good thing
what time you on btw??
im hoping for track time when i get down there on the day but all times are fully booked on the website
so gonna risk it on the day!

thanks people, i have only got one session which is abit shit tbh but i dont really trust the car to hold together for anymore than that
my main worry is the car fucking up as its been abit of a shonker recently and caught fire the other day and also the other cars out there, im sure they will cover most things in the breifing?
i think the weather is going to be very wet as well and i have got properly shit tyres on the care atm lol

Breathe! lol as in.. take it easy, start slow and build up thru the day/session!
Dont feel you need to be the fastest thing out there, because you wont be... especially if Mike R is anywhere near
Keep an eye on mirrors
and TEMPS!!!
another thing i would say is. make sure you give the car a real nice steady slowing down lap, so everything can cool off at the end of the session.

and if you have a 3000bhp cossie, and a little 205 pug is up your arse he IS faster so let him pass
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to many high cars dont like little slow "looking" cars behind...
enjoy it
check all your fluids before hand
set your tyre pressures
use mirrors
have fun

I've only done 2 track sessions, and was very nervous before each one. All I'd say is to really listen in the drivers briefing, and go at your own pace. So what if people come screaming past in "lesser" cars? build up slowly, and stay within you limits. The last thing you want is to bin the car from showing off or driving above yourself.
Mainly - ENJOY IT!!!

i am only doing one session because thats all i could afford at the time my club were taking payment unfortunatly and its only 15 minutes lol
my car is a basicaly standard 4x4, only mods are exhaust, filter, coilovers and 17's
i am expecting the get done by some lesser cars, i know i could get a small quickish car round there faster than wrestling my old barge round lol
thanks for all the advice people i appreciate it and i will take it all on board, im sure i will be fine as its only a short session and im not going to be mister confident.

The likes of Trax and Ford Fair sessions are full of 'Michael Schumachers' who gun it as fast as they can on the straights, flout notice of the 'rules' then wont let you in front of them when you try to move onto the line for the bend (as pulled over to let 'faster' people past) because they are 'racing' then hold you up on then bends
Do a proper track day, much better etiquette
Saying that, have fun and don't worry about trying to be the quickest out there

had mu first track day recently. span on one of the bends lol, didnt go of, jus drove on. ALWAYS brake early. cos onceyour in that bend it IS too late. i had more 'arse grabbing seat' moments that day than in the whole 3 years of driving and it was a buzz! enjoy it mate! ( and mines a 1.1!!! just stripped! managed to take 1.25's and 1.6 ka lol)

done my first track day in my 24v sierra sapphire at ford fair this year in the novice section
standard thing check fuel level, fluid levels, and tyre pressure
in my first session had cut slicks on the front and std road tyres on rear, spun off 3 time with the back end all over the place, passed by loads of cars(track was wet)
in my second session put the cut slick on the rear, massive difference in handling of the car and was passed by one car and escort cosworh
in the third session confidence was up,cornering speed was higher and even passed approx 12-14 car
enjoy it break early and set the car up for the corner and be observant of your mirror and aware of faster cars
i am looking forward to the next seesion

well all went very well in the end i had a great time
my session was properly wet though and i couldnt really go to fast round the bends which was quite annoying! also my abs doesnt work and braking in the wet with shite tyres was pretty dicey tbh. I went out on my session with a mate in an st24 and i just basicaly followed him round and watched him nearly lose it contantly lol
after that session i really wanted to go again but i couldnt be assed with the insanly wet track, it started the dry up later on and i still couldnt really be assed to take the cossie out again but my mates all blagged me to take my mates 1.4 clio out so at 4:10 i went out again but this time in the dry and in the clio
WHAT A BLAST THAT WAS LOL!
i had by far the most fun i have ever had behind the wheel, the car was properly slow but through the bends it was a little beast i was all over a few faster cars on the corners! i managed to catch up, get past and leave about 5 or 6 cars in one of the slowest cars out there lol
tbh driving the clio round the circuit has made me think twice about the cossie i just dont have the fun in it that i had in that really slow clio, its just lowered with 15's on it but it seemed to handle really well and i wasnt paranoid about it going wrong.
im thinking about getting an RS1800 or something as a track car and fucking off the cossie, will a mk3 fiesta handle like a lowered clio?

i was in the stand watching when you went round, very entertaining and you got a massive cheer when you came in
