Default bigger brakes - whats can go on?

I know of the Cossie front brake conversion,

I was wondering if any other disc & Caliper set up works?,
Because i really need some improved stopping power, any help would be great,

i know of a conversion using cortina/sierra xr6 (3l Essex) discs for the rear , dunno if that helps - not really into heavy breaking as my car is only really used for 400 and 800m runs ,

You can pic up the brakes on e-bay.
Total cost:Ł400

Calipers and discs Ł250
Brake pipes Ł20
Brackets Ł80
Spacers Ł40
Pads and fluid Ł30

Here's the brackets

This is the size difference.
