Default Running in a plasma + also hiding cables..

What are peoples thoughts on running in a TV.

I heard loads of different answers, some say to keep brightness/contrast to 50% for 1st 200 hours, some say to run a calibration disk, others just say just plug it in and use it!

Other question, anyone got a good idea on how to hide cables in the wall?

Thought about not hiding them and just get some conduit mounted on the wall, or should I did a channel in the wall and run them through that?

Cables/conduit would show for 1.5ft, but I'd rather do it properly as we have to sand and paint the wall anyway.

Theres where the bottom of the screen will be and the amp will stay put (but in middle of unit).

I did this sorta thing with my kef eggs

I moved them down the wall yesterday, and the speaker cable reburied with filler, sanded and painted.

So any ideas on maybe 1 scart, 2 hdmi, 3 RGB cables and an audio input/output?

Wow Stu - Nice panel m8!

I decided against full HD because of my viewing distance. I ummed and arred for ages looking at 2 42" sets side by side at 768p and 1080p and there is NO noticable difference unless you are sitting 4 ft away (and thats on a 50").

When sets come down in price, I will get a 60" 1080p as that will be optimal for our viewing distance.

Anyway, back to reading the thread

Pete, thats what I'm thinking, you pay for extended warranty for a reason.

But over on avforums there is a whole host of things u shud do

Last one was ok, I paid nearly 1400 for a 42" plasma that was standard definition and an ex display model lol, so the running in was done (albeit just playing whatever) and its been mint.
