Default Internal diameter of water hoses

Hi!!

I need the internal diameter of two water hoses (radiator - cylinder head) for a Sierra Cosworth 4x4.It's for a water temp gauge.

The hose is of 40mm....ummm, i think it's better buy a adaptor of 42mm??
