will this make it misfire my series 2 is misfiring and took it to harvey gibbs he said i have the wrong ecu on it

i got the car with the s1 ecu on it, what is the differnce between the s2 ecu ans s1

s1 ecu has not got a knock sensor which can play up if you have a high lift cam or a bit of vibration i ran a s1 ecu for years on my s2 made 240 bhp no problems what so ever

s1 ecu will only work on early s2 models without a knock sensor. ive got a s1 ecu in my 87 s2

no mate they work on cars with a knock sensor its only the ecu that needs the knock sensor mine was on a 90 spec rs turbo

just because my rs is misfiring like a twat when on parkway it is fine,harvey said it is the wrong ecu, my engine has a knocksensor but if the ecu has no knock sensor will it misfire
