Guys,are you sure that the iaw L8 ecu can't be live-mapped?,why?.
If that's the case i'm buggered...
how am i gonna change any settings on my car's L8 ecu?,how an earth did the original mappers change the chips settings on say,a saffire cossy with 400 ponies??.

both can be live mapped, BUT only the L8 is live mappable by cossie specialists on here, the P8 although can be live mapped, i don't believe any of the tuners on here have the necessary emulator (as above) to do it.

 

My P8 has been live mapped several times by people that use this board.

my P8's have also had many variant of live map over the years by a tuner on here. and i had anti lag.

you can emulate all of the webber ecu's
what you cannot do is emulate a pectel p8 in real time directly using easy to use emulation software that shows you all the maps
If your clever enough and don't mind mapping in hex you can emulate any of them in real time I have such an emulator

 

We can live map Weber L1, L6, & L8. We can also live map P8.

We dont offer any live mapping of P8's containing Pectel boards, but then we would never have to as all Pectel P8 features are available from us without having to use any additional boards. (Ie: closed loop / Air Injectors / ALS / Boost pot / Water Inj etc)

ALS is available for Both L8 and P8 ECU's and both can be live mapped with the ALS software present and active.

Launch Control is only available for L8 to my knowledge.

 

More likely you missunderstood mate as he has mapped a few P8 live with me. he was probably talking about Pectel P8 boards such as pectel P8 Super 8.

they can all be live mapped
what is very difficult is to real time live map them
so live mapping them is more time consuming and therefore costly and people won't pay the price.
real time live mapping is far quicker and therefore cheaper

I've got a kinda unique situation here,i've fitted a Pectal super 8 injection system onto my Vw corrado BUT i didn't use the sierra cosworth loom as it was in poor condition.
So i used another loom robbed off a Lancia delta evo-1,the car that has 2 MAP sensors already fitted.
Can my car be mapped??,i'm thinking that if i change the dianostic connectors over and copy the cosworths 3 wires the emulater should communicate.
Opinions welcome.

 

i believe that the emulator plugs in the ecu instead of the chip mate, not using the diagnostic port
