Default What do i need to wire in a 044 pump?

In a 4x4 saph if that makes a difference
Re-doing the fuel system on my car and I'm about to fit a 044 pump, so I'd like to upgrade the wiring also.
Had a look at the other posts but I know f*** all about electrics, all this talk of relays and inertia sweitches etc..., i have a mate who's an electronic tech, and I'd just get him to do it as he's wickedly neat with stuff, but I just want to check on here what i need.

Thanks

Basically you pull the existing wires to the pump into the spare wheel well and use them to power a new 40 amp relay, i mounted the relay on the bracket that holds the inertia switch. You run new wire from the battery (fused at the battery end) to the relay, then to the pump.

Best not to mount it in the spare wheel well, as they collect moisture, behind the nearside seat upright on the metal work is a 8mm hole that is ideal for mounting a relay holder, added bonus is to take it out at shows etc from inside the boot quick and easy, a 20 amp relay is fine, spst or even changeover can be used, then just some 28/030 wire, I would(and did) run the earth straight from the battery as well, although a lot of people dispense with the inertia switch as well and wire straight of igntion feed to relay.

Thanks, i'll get that sorted out soon!
Years ago i did a similar thing in an XR4x4, just took the wires straight from the ignition to the pump, but I want to do a proper job this time around
