Found great priced, 3 owner sub 100k solid rwd cossie (paint needed a bloody lot of elbow grease, weathered white) which was going to have as an everyday car, then Jas spotted this, needless to say we now have a Capri instead
It actually drives lovely (although have ordered EBC discs and greenstuff pads as the brakes are crap!), previous owner replaced the 1.6 with 2.0 and the bodywork received lots of tlc:

If the bloke hadn't ummed and arhed about our offer on the cossie we probably would've got that instead, he accepted it the day we bought the Capri
I'm warming to it, retros cool, plus we may as well use the cossie we already have
Bullet - the cosworth chap wanted £3,500 without tax (well originally wanted £4k, of course we didn't offer the asking price!)

No where near £3k
(you can tell I am not the boss in my house) I did consider still buying the cosworth anyway to sell on, but still needed £100 tax (no trailer and wouldn't drive it back as on sorn) and £100+ cat approved immobiliser plus an insurance policy, I know will look back and regret not buying it, would've been mint cleaned up

I edited it just as you posted, crystal clear as no way a 2.0 laser is worth anyway near £4k
Think of its shiny red paint being ruined! I've had the back end of our 5-door GLSi out more than the Capris lol
The mk1 Capris are class though, don't think could have one as an every day car though
I now agree, you can keep the Sierra now
(the GLS obviously, not the 4x4
)

Cheers Paul.
lol not quite what happened Dunketh, looked at the cossie on the Wednesday, made an offer the next day, he didn't like it and heard nothing until Saturday afternoon when he changed his mind about the offer, then in the meantime found the Capri and made a deal to buy that instead, so Satuday picked up the Capri instead of another cosworth, but I so know what your saying about grocery shopping

you just cant beat the old cappers can you!!!
how much was it to get the paintwork done (pm me if you want) i really need to get your old one resprayed (lol)
bet that pinto is a torquey bugger!!
get some 190lb springs and an anti dive kit from rallydesign for the front, best mod to date ive done to the capper. anti dive reduces braking distances by a huge ammount, and stiffens up the anti roll bar to roll, and the springs... they are just brilliant!
nice to see you've seen sence
haha
EDIT:
also redstuff pads and take the dust covers off behind the brakes on the front and replace with some washers. makes a world of difference to the front brakes too

Is that up North Fiddy? Previous owner was from Driffield
The bloke who had it before us had the respray VC, no idea what he paid, sure all your paint is original (or did Paul replace the front wings?) but don't quote me on that!

Think was green stuff had on our Montego Turbo, they were ok, only bought them as have an account with EBC, the discs are solid on the capper so pads will warm quick

Aye mate, its north east/north yorkshire. i thought the reg looked familiar from the pics you posted, had a look at the pics ive taken at SC, and its amoungst them. one of the capri clubs attend SC, so it wil have been with them.
dont resist!!!!
either that or get a zetec slapped in there lol, you'll get plenty of money back on the pinto under the bonnet. i got £450 for the (when i sold it) 250,000mile engine lmao.
im sure after a little RR day get a good figure from it im sure you'd get ~700-800 for the pinto!
im sure thatll cover quite a chunk of the cost for the conversion to the YB
