Default **** your GT35s and 42s...

Just going thru some old pics and found a pic of my GT60 that for some reason I still own.
Think I posted em before, but thought youd wanna see.

Next to a magazine...

Next to a pint glass...

In my old 200SX's enginebay...

Since these old pics ive tidied up the roughness of the compressor housing exterior, the finish is so crap for some reason, even though the insides are a work of art, and cut off the really odd compressor outlet they put on GT60s for some reason, ready for a normal one to be welded on.

Matt- As 'funny' as that pic may be, the turbo I have is actually for automotive use.

Garrett reckon 2000bhp, comp map seems to say about 1800bhp.

My one has a .86 exhaust housing so should spool up fine on even a small block V8.

Well it would when you just throw it in a 1.8 litre 500quid shitboxes enginebay for a joke pic

It would work perfectly for that TBH, tho a bit of a waste as its such a big turbo and id not even need half its capability!

I've not got that bit a collection, just grab good stuff when I spot em as I know what im looking at, unlike most, so often get stuff off people for peanuts as they dont know what they selling.
They always come to use, this is the only one so far ive not yet used.

Tho im gutted as I missed out on two BRAND new S300s, ported shroud, v-band comp and turbine outlets, t3 flange, basically agt35 but better, for 100quid each
Ive got NO use for them, but its been a few weeks now and im still kicking myself for missing out on them.

Ive got turbo OCD

Thats a turbo that an OE application would rate at about 1000bhp judging by the map, as in that is what it would do mega easily and last forever, im sure it will be a lag monster on anything smaller than a V8 though of course.

You need some PROPER cubic inches on that bad boy to run much boost.

At 2.5 bar, it would still be surging on a 1200bhp engine!

I've got a T8180 from a train somewhere which is probably a similar size, compressor housing OD is 12", inducer is 6"!

T8180? Made by who?

Unless its Garrett style inducer diameter naming, and its a "T81"?

Got any pics?

Yes, it's a Garrett turbocharger.. I believe it was off of some Caterpillar train or something.. I'll have to double-check the model number - I was going to either turn it into a gas turbine or just get it minted up and bolt it to an RSG in the workshop
