What do i do with regards to giving the drivers details as it says it must be filled in, obviously the DVLA should have the log book by now and it should be changed over within a few days? The speeding ticket was issued on the 8th August, we got sold the car on 7th.

I need the drivers license number how on earth am i supposed to know that as well as drivers date of birth, name and address.

All you need to do is fill it in with the new owners name & address with a note saying you sold the car before the said incident & send it off.

oh ok, it says on the back of the NIP if i wasnt the owner i need to fill it in with date and time i sold it and provide the drivers info??

 

Thats it, all you need to fill in is the name, address & the date you sold it on - Bob's your mother's brother

now ill have to try and get in touch with the lad who bought it for his info, bit of a crap way of doing it isnt it, imagine if we sold it to a proper dodgepot they could just totally deny it

Do you not have his name & address there?

I always make up two receipts when I sell a car with the buyers name, address & time of sale & get the person to sign both so I have a copy & the buyer has a copy that way if anything happens like what's happened to you I have all the details I need to get it sorted.

It happened when I sold my Porsche (got a NIP a couple of weeks later) so I just pulled out the old receipt & filled in the info & sent it off

 

No as we swapped our skoda for his ibiza so didnt get a receipt, but typically the ibiza is in his mothers name which is a different address lol

 

Didnt you fill each others log books in to say you were the new owner of his car and him vice versa with yours?
