I dont know it but i'm not sure it's a genuine S1, it looks like its got a series 2 rad and intercooler by the angle or the hose going to the dump valve T piece and i think I can see a knock sensor on the end of the inlet manifold! Also shouldnt there be a water bottle on the right hand side inner wing whre the Fuel filter is siting?

 

Im pretty sure its not a D plater as im sure i know of the car and i was reliably informed its not! SO BEWARE if anyone goes to look at it

S2 top I/C hose
S2 Intercooler
S2 header tank




Water bottle ?

 

water bottle is on the right hand side, it sits in the wing on a s1, also the coil in that pic is mounted ontop of the inner wing not on the side of the inner wing next to the metering unit, also look where the inlet manifold to ecu hose goes, straight over the heater box

does look funny clocked the intercooler, boost hoses. how can you tell inlet manifold? whats wrong with coil on inner wing? does seem funny and then covering up number plate so no one can check?

Inlet manifold has the green knock sensor on the side, these only came on series2's, never S1's.

Coil on an S1 is mounted down behind the metering unit on the side of the inner wing, not on the top like a series 2.

 

Spotted this just as i was going to bed last night and did'nt really have a good look at it. It is a S2 with S1 bits on It cleverly does'nt say it's a S1 on the ad but it does'nt say it's a S2 either !!! Potential buyers will need to be careful if they are'nt too clued up on S1's.

Bargain.Does a log book say series 1 or series 2?.With the bits that stand out replaced for original s1 bits,you would never be able to tell the difference.

 

oh i didnt know bout the inlet. i didnt see the coil i know what you mean now
