Normally a slapt wristand told to change it...
If keep on getting caught then a fine of £60 i think and also the dvla can tale the plate away from you...
Spacing is normally just a telling off though...
If you have one to small or wrong font and you have messed around with altering letters they will be strict

Right then.....
I have a few plates and i have never had any trouble with them at all......in over 8 years.
I spoke to a copper once and he said that as long as you are not racing around and standing out,
OR
Get a plate with gay style digits with screws trying to make one letter look like another...
then you should be ok.....
I have had the following
C20 WTH........ squashed up to make C20WTH on my Cosworths. NEVER got pulled on the plate, but did get a few producers but they never mentioned the plate.
T17 FMJ.........squashed to make T17F MJ. My name is Mark John TIFF so that works....... Had it on Range Rovers, BMWs and Mondeo ST's and again NEVER had a problem
Same with T17F AL for my sister.......That is on here 206 1.4 bog standard girls cars and she has NEVER had any trouble in 6 years.....
S77 ODA on the Skoda reads S77ODA......... Looks a little like Skoda to 99.9% of people unless they are trying to be funny, badge snobs and say "What the fuck is that ment to say".......... I just say are you that thick you can see the connection
Its all about NOT acting like a twat and having stupid style digits......Just get the normal font but move the digits slightly.....
Good plates are cool as fuck as NO-ONE can have the same

I have M40 RST on the festa which to me looks like M4D RST others may think otherwise
On my other car the plate represents my surname which is pronunced Loy... et ! Hence the L8YET plate, which is as close as you can get considering my name is French

i dunno what to do now
cant decide if its naff or not ?
personalised plates are just that, personal to the owner, if you like the look of the plate then go for it, if it makes others recognise it then fair play, whatever and if it makes you giggle too then thats a bonus. B457ARD on a 3door anyone LOL.
I do think that if you have to try too hard with spacing and types etc then it surely isnt worth your time effort and hassle from the plod, IMO std type and even spacing if you can

@ Mr Punto!!!!How you doing anyway mate, been a while

Soz for hijack Kev
if you can afford a CSL surely you can afford a proper plate none of this £500 dvla plate spaced illegally.
i abhore illegal plates... favourite lines from sellers "with a few screws and some spacing".. as in totally changing it to look like something else
"Be totally unique" FPMSL - thats kinda the point in a number plate
seriously though, leave it on its plate unless oyu want to hide how old it is e.g. £500 dateless plate (not irish they are the total pits) or get something silly expensive if you really want to show off. don't ruin a nice car by doing such a total bell end thing as that
