Freelander Experts?
i know it will still drive with the prop disconnected but will this do any long term damage?
and is it possible to bin the transfer box aswell and use a longer driveshaft?
it's only for my mother, furthest off road it will go is the pavement!

It will be ok to to remove the prop and vcu unit,it does not damage it.
A freeelander rear prop spins all the time, but the vcu unit determines when it goes 4wd.
They reckon you can get 5mpg extra whith it disconnected.

oh wow thats the kind of info i was looking for! thanks!
thinking about it, disconnecting the prop will put less strain on the transfer box=less chance of it going bang.
