just pulled my head off my cossie as number 2 cylinder was full of water.noticed that on one side of the headgasket the water holes are blocked off? is this normal?. doesnt look rite.cos the water jackets in the head line up with the water jackets in the block,so y are they blocked one side on the gasket? or is this normal? help plz?

 

its correct chap the headgasket does not have the cut out to match the water ways on the head and block

not sure tbh fella they just have small holes for the coolant to pass through i seem to remember!i can only think its to help flow rate of the coolant

 

is it not on the inlet side of the head? there is no water jacket in the head any way, think only small cast reccess
