Default Power Engineering "System Two" 1900 blocks

Has any one had one and know If they are any good? I'm looking at getting a new bottom end with desent rods and pistons and this has come up, but there seems to be some mixed views on them and blocks cracking. Its a 1600 block thats been re bored to 1900 by PE and fitted with Mahle pistons.

i have run the pe engine and a 2.1zvh in my opinion the pe enging is far better it revs better the power is better spread through the rev range just an overhall better drive. the reason why im running the zvh now is due to piston damage when i bought the pe engine and it was cheeper to build a zvh than rebuild the 1.9.

I've got a n/a one and i was very impressed with it, even with a standard 1600 mfi head and cam on it, it pulled well and revved as well as if not better than a standard 1600, i think the whole bottom end on mine has been balenced though, not sure about the turbo ones.

they use cast pistons and the blocks crack easily

the standard internals power limit is the same has the 1.6 cvh around 260 bhp

they are good for a low boost engine but the max power limits around the same has the 1.6 so what's the point

Thats what I needed to know. Cheers fella. Pointless for me then as I'm upgrading my bottom end as I don't trust it on 18.5PSI.
