As I said, I removed mine with a specialist tool.

A hacksaw.

I can't actually see any tabs as such.... I think it's the same fitting as on a fiesta fuel filter outlet. I've got a braided metal hose to connect to it instead of the plastic one, which will go straight to the filter bypassing the accumulator. This looks to be some push fitting. I take it when i get the plastic bit off, I just shove the metal pipe into the new fitting and it will snap home?

Nigel - huge thanks - it is this type.

However - the white piece in your picture is no longer attached - it cracked so i forced the rest off. I take it what i should be leavering/pressing on with the screwdrivers is now exposed? i.e. what your actually pushing on isn't part of the white piece.

Rick.

it should be a metal quick release connector
as soon as it is moved down slightly it releases the pressure and can get pulled off, sometimes they are a very tight fit and are hard to pull off

Dremel to the rescue.... Wouldn't budge so i had to get physical. The new braided line with metal fitting snapped straight onto the fuel line, so hopefully it's sealed.
