Is it modified??? if it is then this is a common problem with older chips as when standard, the warning light comes on if the car reaches 14.7psi,which is to prevent damage on standard set up.
When modified to stage one and above it lights up at 14.7psi and most people stick a bit of black tape over it!

Mine never did that above 14.7psi.....if its been mapped properly I cant see why the ecu would try and store a trouble code when its parrameters have been increase?

Yes you can do your own blink test's mate.....give me a sec ive got it saved somewhere.......

my car had light on similar situation to you, when I did the test was crank senser phasing, just had to turn the distributer a little to get it all back in line. I have ne ver heard of it coming on when running higher boost, don't even think it has a fault code for overboosting, it is a twenty odd year old ecu and is not anywhere near as complex as modern systems.
