The day before me and 5 mates went to Ibiza, one of my mates phoned me up asking for a loan of £200 as he was short on spending money but would give me it back the Friday after he got home.

I said yeah, no problem. Dropped the money off, went on holiday, excellent time, came back and the friday after i phoned him asking if he could drop it in after his work, "Ah mate, im kinda short, can i give you it next Friday?" I said yeah, i can hang off.

Yesterday, when he said id get it back, i was working late, so couldnt get it, i asked if i could get it today instead, "aye, aye, no problem, will meet you then"

Today, i went to where he said hed meet me, stood for ten mins, no show, phoned him, his phone is off, phoned again, phone still off. Stood for 40mins, no sign of him, phone still off and here i am. What a fucking dickhead, he's made me stand for 40mins waiting on him, when he had absolutely no intention of showing up with the money?

He's a mate, but come on to fuck. Im not going to hit him, or smash up his car etc, but im fucking livid that hes had the nerve to do that.

for future reference these days i ONLY even loan money i can afford to loose,,,, either that or i loan money to people who i dont want arround me as the best way to NOT bump into someone is to loan them money

 

Like Ginge said get the money back in instalments he may not want to tell his mate that he is broke and has no money, However if you see him in the pub spending your hard earned cash i would disown him.

 

No mate would do that to me. Even if any of them didnt have the cash they would still have te decentcy to say they havent got it instead of saying they will meet me and make me wait like a plum. sometimes we have mates who aint perfect i guess,,,, ive got mates who im cool with but wouldnt ask somethings from them as i know they wouldnt wanna help

some people dont even have REAL mates,,, just people they know to talk to/pass time where others have mates who would give them the last fiver from there pocket

i personally dont have ANY mates i grew up with OR went school with and we was VERY close when we was younger,,,,, think my oldest mate ive known for 7 years,,,, and we HATED each other when we first met

Yeah i know where he lives, but for £200 its not worth the aggro of going round and taking his stuff.

It'd be snide to put a window in his car in, and i aint gonna take a swing at him, maybe best just to fuck him off, not bother speaking to him again. Unless of course he comes good with the cash.

Lending mates money is more hassle than its worth, i now realise!!

 

I'd be more upset about the being stood there, Money isn't valuble compared to time. Might be a genuine reason, so don't jump the gun yet.

coldo mate, my only advise would be get your money back someway or another; if you genuinely still like the bloke, stay mates with him but dont lend him anymore money, or forget about the cash and have nothing more to do with him - that would be my choice just for the fact he stood you up

6 years ago,i crashed my twin turbo xr4x4,i pulled engine out and scrapped the shell

then went on a hunt for another car i found a black h-reg 2.9i xr4x4 in wales and i got train down and blagged it for £500 i think it was

brought it home,showed a good mate of mine who id known for years

anyway a local guy was breaking a saph cos and it was flint grey,so i bought the front bumper,grill,bonnet,alloys,side skirts,and full interior for the xr

my supposed mate helped me fit all the bits and i was planning on changing the engine the following week

so one night i picked him up and went to another friends for a bevy,we ran out of drink and my mate suggested borrowing my car to go get more,i agreed as he said hed only had 2 cans,and told him not to be an arse,just go and straight back

half hour later he appears at door,white and shiting himself,saying hes crashed my car,im like your fucking joking


he was flying along a 40mph dual carrigeway just round the corner,probably doing near 100mph,couldnt brake in time for a roundabout,but kept the brakes down so no steering and left the road,bursting all 4 tyres and smashing all 4 alloys,(actually parts of them missing)when hiting the kerb
wraped it into a railing (where kids normally play)
it was down an embankment

so the prick gets out,locks the door and runs away

so basically he knows the car cost £500 and ive spent £500 on it+good head unit,all my cd`s

the car gets uplifted and i never see it again

he promises to pay me back,i got £400 off him and he done a runner to manchester

if thats not a prick i dont know what is,ive known him since 11 years old

and to top it off he was actually really wide about it just before he done a bunk

but he lives back up here now,i will see him 1 day

im not into forgive and forget
