just noticed this morning, that when the car is left ticking over, you can hear a strange ticking noise, kinda like the noise injectors make but louder.

Any ideas?

 

run the car and disconect one sensor at a time when the ticking stops then you have found it if not get a long screw driver put one end in your ear and the other end on different parts of the engine bay and you might be able to here where its coming from

 

Not a cam noise ? have you recently done a cam belt as the twat that did mine set the timing off the arrow when its the pin nearest of the other way around and that made a ticking noise like that where the valves were hitting the pistons very slightly. Or have you checked to see if someones attached a bomb that dont like you.
