Just got a call from Ford in Walsall.

Deposits for the new focus rs is going to be £1000 if i want it (which I do)

Delivery will be in February

They dont intend on building the 8000 as quoted and will be made/ordered on a first come first served basis

The green colour is 90% likely to be made

Walsall Ford have taken 3 orders ( including mine)

Wolverhampton Ford have taken 5 orders.

West Bromwich Ford have taken 3 orders

white would be my choice

 

They are doing Frozen White and Performance Blue also. I have ordered mine in green

 

My mate has one on order in White

 

After emailing my dealer on Monday, I got this reply

Hi Richard,

The Focus RS(the new one) is not out until next year and as yet we have no idea on pricing.
It is unlikely Ford will offer any kind of Privilege discount as the car will be neash and therefore Ford Mototr Co. will probably feel as though they could sell them easily without needing to offer anything off. However, this is only hearsay for the time being.

If you want to purchase a new Focus RS then we are taking orders with a £500 non refundable deposit and then it's a case of waiting for build/prices etc....

how can anyone place a £500 non refundable deposit when theyve no idea on the price? is that legal? it may well end up costing a fortune with all the options,leather/lux pack/sat nav which will all be extra im still waiting for a deffo price before i do anything

 

That's silly putting a deposit imo. you might as well flush the money down the toilet as you have NO FUCKING CLUE what you are buying. By that I mean obviously, you know what the damn thing looks like and stuff but:

no idea on price
no idea on spec
no idea how it drives
no idea how much it will cost to insure etc

 

You could put the £500 deposit down over 6 months ago which is STILL refundable. Thats with two seperate dealers also.

 

My dealer also says if i go in to see them and I pay the £1000 it is is refundable.

Im not sure if its just me but i dont see the new RS as being very "special" my opinion may be swayed when i see one on the road but i cant see the appeal at the moment

 

have you really ordered one sludge? must take us for a burn in it when you get it.

 

ford should say a limit of 4000. people will snap these up thinking there won't be many about, then say due to success were making more, lol

 

My misses wants it green so we will be putting our names down on the waitong list

well fords have ordered 8000 engines for now so if they only intend to build 4000 they must have got there sums wrong ? was told at the launch by one of the top blokes in charge they intend to sell as many as they can till the mark 2 focus comes to its end (about 2 1/2 year time)

 

wonder if there will ever be a mk3 rs????? suppose it all depends on the success of this one,and how much cash they can rake in

 

They've actually got the tooling for 8500.

If they sell those easily though don't be in any doubt that more won't become available.

 

are the new FRS's going to be numbered like the mk1 ?

for some reason it dont have the same appeal as any other RS. think ford have messed RS up by making 8000 of them. takes the exclusivity away.

 

im not a big fan of it but im sure it will grow on me in time



how many 3 doors do u think they built?

over 5000 and that was only over a couple of years and over 13000 saffs were built in its 5 year run and do you know how many s2's they built its something like 22000 so a run of 8000 cars will make it quite exlusive espcially after 10 years when many will have been wrote off/ stolen and burnt out etc

 

i was going to do it to however changed my mind and put a deposit on a megane r26r. only 220 been made in the country.

 

will all ford dealers be taking orders for them????

wierd that some dealers want a deposit ad some dont.

just don't cover it in stickers sludge, it'll spoil it.

 

no point just fill out the order form and wait you may as well keep your monies in the bank

lets face it if it comes out with 260-280 hp then I'm not buying
