Default what would cause this?

right the boys mondeo

brake pedal when engine is off is firm

start engine and you can push the pedal to the floor

no apparent leaks although the resevoir is just above min (god knows how long its been since he checked this mind)

apparently is just happened! last night they was fine then bad today same old story
