Inspired ....... back in the groove !!!
Hello Peeps,
After reporting on behalf of Fast Ford on the rolling road shootout at Jamsport i've been inspired to but another RS1600i. Indeed 16i number 6 is sitting on my driveway, a White, Y plate car; it's just a shame i didn't by it prior to the day of the shootout. Glad to back as a RS1600i owner as the following for this car is immense and great fun. Looking forward to meeting up/joining some of the socials with you guys'n'girls in the not too distant.

Congratulations M8ty. Tell us a bit about the car and get some piccies up then. Are you the guy that was going round with the clipboard asking the questions about mods and expected power at the RR day?

Hello all,
Thanks for your kind comments,
I'm affraid that i don't have a digital camera and wouldn't know how to post pics even if i did; 24 going on 74 me !!!
The car i've bought was registered on the 1st of February 1983 and is finished in Diamond White. The car has covered 82'000 miles under the ownership of three people and the first owner had her for 17 years. It's an early CR chassis number car with 'crushed' interior and is in really good condition with only the batttery tray and lower rear quarters having been replaced. The floorpans, chassis rails and panels are in really good condition and the car looks really clean. She's fitted with electric windows, a sunroof and tints form the option list and has all the bits in the right places; coils, spoilers, spots/fogs, etc and has the original radio casette and a Ford exhaust too. The only thing that detracts from the car are a couple od small cracks around the heater vents in the dash and the fact that S1 wheels have found their way onto the car at some point but as a daily driver it'll do me.
I'm trying to trace the first two owners and have written to the DVLA but if anyone here know anything about LPX 971Y then please get in touch. Looking through the old MOT's, of which i have all of them ,it appears that the car has spent it's whole life in the Surrey are which is where i bought it from. I miss my Cossie but it's great to be back in a RS1600i as it draws stares and comments everywhere it goes. Great cars !!!
Kev- why do you "think not" then ???
