hmm. Plugs would be my first thought, coil packs and leads you say are ok? Check the multi-plugs on the inner wing, my ST Escos developed part time anti-lag when mine were slightly corroded
..
Other thing might be the air flow meter. Think adamski off here has a spare for sale.

Also mate, might be worth plugging into a diagnostic scanner as they show up any sensor faults
.. Ususally shows up an EGR valve failure , but that is an EEC IV thing, so don't worry about it.

changed the plugs ...missfire
swopped the coilpacks around with one spare rs2000 one, still no joy, ideally I need a cossie coil pack to be certain it's not them ( I still think it's a coil pack breaking down)

This is true, agree with people about the standard lights as well.
Hope you get it sorted for Sunday

Car looks really good tho !!
Are you sure it's not the fuel gone stagnant (spelling), or the car runnin out of fuel ??
This happened to mine 2 days ago, as soon as I got to 5 psi or more the car would jus start missing !!
Luckily I got a fuel pressure gauge & could see the pressure drop. Perished hose feeding the pump from the tank was the culprit. 10 mins later all was sweet again !!
Hope you get it sorted fella !!

they are an escort turbo/2wd cosworth plug. 4wd plugs are different.
i'd say it sounded alot like the loom plugs breaking down myself.had the problem with my saff too.they were fine after a clean up.

what makes me think it's a coil/spark plug issue is it only does it when the engines hot, if I stick it on boost when the engines still warming up it's fine

I don't put it on boost when it cold I wait till the engines warm, it's when it gets to normal running temp thats when the bllurrppp begins..
