there heavy cars mate and not that quick, not bad in a straight line but the last ones rear i sat on through some bends was twitchy as hell
i've only got 150bhp or so at the mo aswell
i had a bit of a play with a vr6 on the bath road near macdonalds,
he had no chance and mines runnning 192bhp. as Chunt69 said there quite heavy cars mate.

Are you really sure rst is so good in bends? =)
My dailydriver e36 328i coupe with proper suspension overtakes rst 100/0 in bends and track.
I'd much rather have and be seen in a Corrado then an Escort Cabriolet regardless
of which is better at 'taking out' the other...
you choose the right one to be seen in then as they look a lot better than they actually go
nice cars imho but lacking performance and the drive is not a spirited one at all.

I sold my VR6 to a mate, it wasn't standard-had a scotts 3.2 conversion. And my RST would pull away from it in every gear. My RS wasn't standard either though @ 25psi boost! However the corrado was much better around corners. Couple of pics
I've got a Golf VR6 - its quick but as you say 'twitchy as hell' in bends! Got Eibach ARB's and Bilstein coilovers etc but it adds to the excitement when the back end starts hopping round at 120mph
The Corrado's meant to handle better than a Golf though.
The corrado was better handling out of the two, escort felt quicker and was much more fun-but the corrado was more planted. It was a big heavy car yes but was better. But then neither the VR or the RS were standard so its hard to compare! I had a standard RS years back and it was scary how it handled!

I can only go on experience, mine is near standard with koni adjustables on it maybe the car i was chasing was on tired standard stuff- did look pretty low mind- tbh i think the mk3/mk4 is a very good handler if setup right
As standard cars, the carrado with out perform and out handle an RS Turbo. 3rd gear on the VR's is very long and ideal for quick overtaking on B roads etc. However, get an RST chipped and koni's etc and the VR will struggle to keep ahead due to the extra weight.
Carrado's are actually very good handling cars and far better balanced than the golf VR's. The one you were racing was probably a tired example and not very well setup.
