s1 cold starting advice
my s1
only recently aquired, only just learnt the knack but cold startings a pain
if turn key it will fire not quite idle and die and a pain to restart
if i just touch the throttle a inch or so and turn the key it fires within a second or so but i have to keep the revs up for a good minute or so before it will think iif idling etc, if i dont get it rght and it stalls its a pain to restart, if i get out touch the flap on the metering unit down a few mill and get someone to turn key it fires straight away
but as i say i know the car and can now start it perfectly, but i want it to fire and idle on the key not mess about for a good minute or so
any advice?

On a K- and KE-Jetronic you always should open the throttle to ~50% when starting.
Idling... check the additional air unit (don't know how you call it), fuel pressure and the temperature sensors...

ned to get the car checked over fella
i remember the servo was weeping slightly
is the cold start still disconnected
also check that the auxirly (spelling) is opening and closing correctly
whats does the car idle on when warm using a proper rpm gauge not the rev counter
also started and come on choke evertime when i had it fella propb needs a good set up and clean

the blue one that i unplugged was the cold start one
never needed it as the car would flood in the morning but once unplugged it would start and idle almost on the button without the throttle

heres the thing, the plugs i saw looked brand spanking new, metal spring depressed to pull unclip, wiring all nicely taped
prob wrong but maybe its had a touch of rewiring since you had it, all looks good, or maybe there is a black plug like that? if stood drivers wing looking down back of manifold thats were i saw it and unplugged

well i had to pop into the workshop a min ago to pick up my dash gear as a m8 needed a last minute job, thought id turn the key and see, no throttle it started and idled
so spose unplugging whatever i did sorted it, however i will reserve jugement till seen it hot and ive checked the co reading
