Default been charged twice for fuel.. how do i get my money back?

sunday morning i filled up the wagon at asdas fast lane thing, you put your card in the mahine and enter your pin, and it lets you take a maximum of 70gbp.

so i kept going until it stopped, which was £70.13 and pressed the button to end transaction, but like a retard never got a reciept.

now, i have just looked at my online bank statement and i have been charged £70, and then a nother transaction for £70.13.

so how the fuck can i get my £70 back?

if i take in a copy of my statement, as i didnt get a reciept, how can i prove that i didint take 2 lots of fuel?

are these things time and date stamped at all?

cheers all, really cant afford to let £70 go for nothing.

Yeah go and see a member of staff and explain, if they check the cctv, point out that for the amount of time you were filling up you couldn't have drawn £140 quids worth and that your tank isn't capacious enough to accomodate the quantity of fuel you have been charged for.

Hopefully common sense will prevail, as the facts are laid out right there.

You ring your CC company and they will sort it. It's a possible fraud, so they need to know.

You can't fit two lots of fuel in the car, so it should be quite easy for them to deal with.

write to the head of walmart in america and ask if it's the way he expects his company to be run

as well as the aforementined other methods, but possibly not setting fire to the petrol station or holdiong someone hostage

There is the possibility that the pump fucked up and the guy after you thought ooooh free petrol and made away with a sly £70.00

The only reason i'm saying this is because if you got charged twice shouldn't both of the amounts on your statement be £70.13?

Hope it's not though!!

if you can only put £70 in on the card then you can't possibly have put in £70.13 can you

Filled up at tesco pay@pump over two weeks ago with £60+ and not been charged, bargain.
Their records will help you in this instance.

if you need a receipt its quicker to not bother with the card and just get out fill up and walk into the petrol station

right, little update. i went in to asda today and spoke to customer services, explained what had happened etc and she was cool, just said i needed to take in a bank statement that the bank send out, i cant takin a printout, has to be from the bank.

she also rang the main office to ask as i didnt have the receipt, and said its no problem, they just trace it back through my card - so thats a bonus.

she also made a note of it in some book, forgot what term she used for the book, but at least there is a record

ps, no one else could have got free fuel, as i ended the transaction by pressing the button. and even if they did, id already gone over the 70 quid limit lol.

only downside is that ive only just had my bank statement, so gotta wait a month

ill post what happens in a few weeks lol
