Default Battery trouble

The battery light has stopped coming on when i turn the key and if the car runs the alternator is not charging, the alternator is working as its brand new and had another regulator fitted as well. I managed to get it working the other day by changing the spade connector on the blue wire for the alternator and it worked once, now its stopped again. Any ideas?

I have heard that you can put a live to the connector and the alt will work is this right?

So i can put a wire from the battery to the connector where the blue wire is.

ive had same problem today, missed my mot again because half a mile down the road the battery was completely flat
no battery light coming on on my dash either, im thinking thats the cause because ive just put these clocks in and ive not used it since theyve been in
did seem to drain awfully quick though and the battery was fully charged.
