hi everyone... just a quick question... i am thinking of doing something to my 1990 mk4 rs turbo... its white and not in the best of states but i would like to do a full restoration... however will it be possible to convert it to a mk3 s1 turbo?? whilst keeping the same engine and running gear. The Brakes will be beefed up and the interior will have sapphire leathers that are waitiing to be put in.

the things that i think will definitley be needed are:

Side Skirts
Arches
Wings
Front Bumper
Rear Bumper
Headlights
Taillights
Indicatiors
Grill
Fogs
Bonnet
Spoiler

im not sure if i need a bootlid and different quarters...

is there anything else that will be needed?? has aanyone done this before??

you would also need the mk3 slam panel, scuttle panel and rear panel

 

why bother??

it would be cheaper to just buy a good condition s1

 

well currently i have 2.0 zvh which i spent alot of money on and also if i was to convcert it i would have the great looks of a s1 with abs heated screen etc. which my turbo has.... also doesnt meen much but how often will you see a s1 h-reg?

the s2 suspension is different to the s1 but wat i would like to know is if there is any big differences in the actual shell to which the running gear bolts on? i would like to put as much new panels as i can including doors.... its a big order so i may just decide to change the parts that are required to make it look like a s1 and not bother with say the full treatment like new floorpans etc.
